1  Name

This instrument is the Jervis Bay Territory Emergency Management (Employment Protection—Bushfires) Direction 2020.

2  Commencement

This instrument commences the day after it is registered.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 31(1) of the Jervis Bay Territory Emergency Management Ordinance 2015.

4  Definitions

Note:          A number of expressions used in this instrument are defined in section 4 of the Ordinance, including the following:

(a)    emergency;

(b)    emergency operation.

In this instrument:

Ordinance means the Jervis Bay Territory Emergency Management Ordinance 2015.

5  Direction

Part 4 of the Ordinance applies to all emergency operations carried out in connection with the emergency the subject of the Declaration of State of Emergency (Jervis Bay Territory) made on 3 January 2020.         .

Note:          The declared state of emergency remains in force until the end of 10 January 2020.   .

6  Repeal

This instrument is repealed at the end of 10 January 2020.
