Act No. 57, 1924.

An Act to sanction the construction of a line of railway from Jcriklerie towards Deniliquin.; to amend the Public Works Act, 1912 ; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 23rd December, 1924.]

1 . This Act may he cited as the " Jerilderie towards

Deniliqiiin Railway Act, 192L" 2 .

2 . The carrying out of the work described in the Schedule to this Act is hereby sanctioned.

3 . The plan of the said work is the plan marked "N.S.W. Railways, Jerilderie towards Deniliquin, Schedule Plan," signed by the Railway Commissioners for New South Wales and countersigned by the Chief Engineer for Railway and Tramway Construction, and deposited in the public office of the said Railway Commissioners.

4 . The cost of carrying out the said work (exclusive of land resumptions) is estimated at one hundred and twenty-five thousand pounds, and such estimated cost shall not, under any circumstances, be exceeded by more than ten per centum.

5 . The said line of railway may be constructed on or along or by the side of any road or highway.

6 . Notwithstanding the provisions of section ninety- one of the Public Works Act, 1912, the Constructing Authority shall not he compelled, nor shall it be the duty of the said Authority to make or maintain any fence along the said line of railway for the accom­ modation of any person or for any purpose whatsoever; but the said Authority may, in its discretion, make and maintain such fences in connection with the said line of railway as it may think fit.

T H I S line commences a t 4 1 2 miles 4 chains from Sydney and a t t he

western end of t he s ta t ion site a t Je r i lder ie , and proceeds in a south­ westerly direction across West -s t ree t and Algudery Creek, sk i r t s the head of Box Creek and passes close to the south-eastern side of Burchel l ' s Lagoon, thence the south-westerly hearing is cont inued for about 1 7 miles to the Tuppal Soldiers ' Se t t lement , where it t e rmina tes a t 1 3 7 miles 4 chains from Sydney, being a total dis tance of 2 5 miles, and is subject to such deviat ions and modifications as may be considered

desirable by the Cons t ruc t ing Author i ty .
