GOLDSWORTHY) AGREEMENT.

AN ACT to amend the Iron Ore (Mount Golds-

worthy) Agreement Act, 1962.

[Assented to 17th December, 1963.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

and citation.

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Iron Ore (Mount Goldsworthy) Agreement Act Amendment Act, 1963.

In this Act the Iron Ore (Mount Golds-

worthy) Agreement Act, 1962, is referred to as the

principal Act.

The principal Act as amended by this Act may

be cited as the Iron Ore (Mount Goldsworthy)

Agreement Act, 1962-1963.

2. Section two of the principal Act is amended

S. 2

amended.

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the word, "provisions", in line four of the interpre- tation, "the Agreement", the words, "or the provisions of this Act";

(b)

by substituting for the passage, "time.", being the concluding passage of the inter- pretation, "the Agreement", the passage, "time; and"; and

(c)

by adding, after the interpretation, "the Agreement", the following passage

expressions used in this Act have the same respective meanings as are given them in, and for the purposes of, the Agreement.

3. The principal Act is amended by adding, after 5.5 added.

section four, the following section-

it, so as—

certainvaried in respects.

(a)

to require, or enable, the State to grant to the Company a lease of any area (including the outer ocean approaches to any port or place) to be dredged;

(b)

to substitute for Depuch Island, men- tioned in the Agreement, another port or place and, in the event of such a substitution being made, to make consequential or other amendments, with respect to the railway, townsites, facilities, services and other matters referred to in the Agreement; and

(0)

to bring about the more efficient or satisfactory fulfilment of its objectives.
