An Act to Authorise the Grant of a Perpetual Lease THE IpSWICH TRADES AND of Oertain Orown Land within the Oity of Ipswich for the purposes of a Trades and LABOUR IlALL LAND PERPETUAL LEASE ACT OF 1925. Labour Hall Site, and for other consequential purposes. [ASSENTED TO 12TH OCTOBER, 1925.] W Preamble. HEREAS a parcel of land: being subdivision 2 of allotment 13 of section 4, county of Stanley, parish of Ipswich, town of Ipswich, comprising an area of 19 18 o .i: o perches or thereabouts, a description whereof chedde. is set forth in the Schedule to this Act, was formerly vested in the Commissioner for Railways for Sta.te railway purposes, and being no longer required for the said purposes was, together with all existing imp: I~ ove­ ments thereon, acquired by the Crown for the purposes of a Trades and Labour Hall site in and for the City of Ipswich~ and the consideration for such land and improvements was duly paid by the Crown to the said Commissioner for Railways: And whereas ,certain persons representing the Ipswich and West Moreton Labour Day Celebration Committee have been and now are in occupation of the said land for the purposes of a Trades and Labour Hall and have repaid to the Crown the consideration money in respect of the improvements thereon 3jS aforesaid, and are willing to repay to the Crown the consideration money in respect of the said land as aforesaid upon being granted a perpetual lease from the Crown of the said land under and subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter provided: And whereas it is desirable that provision should be made enabling such perpetual lease to be granted: Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with ,the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the' same, as follows :- Short 1. This Act may be cited as "The Ipswich Trades title. and Labour Hall Land Perpetual Lease Act of 1925."
BUILDINGS. 1925. Ipswich Trades and Labour Hall Land Perpetual Lease Act. 11521 2. (1.) The Q overnor in Council is hereby empowered Power to to grant to J ames Russell and John Borland Reid. ~ : ~ n! t~ l trustees of the Ipswich and West Moreton Labour Day leafe. Celebration Committee (hereinafter with their transferees• .assignees, and successors in interest referred to as "the trustees") a perpetual lease of all that parcel of land situated within the county of Stanley, parish of Ipswich, town of Ipswich, being subdivision 2 of allotment 13 ·of section 4, comprising an area of 191~ o4o perches, more or less, which said land is described in the Schedule to this Act. . Schedule. (2.) Such lease shall be- (a) A lease in perpetuity; (b) Granted to the trustees; (c) At a peppercorn rental; (d) Subject to the condition of the payment by .the trustees to the Crown of the consideration money paid by the Crown to the Commissioner for Railways upon the acquisition of the said land in respect of the said land exclusive of the then existing improvements thereon, and to such further terms, conditions, covenants. reservations, and stipulations (including the power to mortgage for the purpose of effecting further improvements on the said land) as the Governor in Council shall think fit; and (e) Be held by the trustees for the purposes of a Trades and Labour Hall and for no other purpose whatsoever. THE SCHEDULE. County of Stanley, Parish of Ipswich, Town of Ipswich. Area: 19/'0\ perches. Subdivision 2 of Allotment 13 of Section 4. Commencing at the south-east corner of subdivision 1, and bounded thence on the north by that subdivision bearing 274 degrees 30 minutes two chains; on the west by a line bearing 184 degrees 30 minutes sixty-two links; on the south by allotment 12, bearing '94 degrees 30 minutes two chains; and on the east by Nicholas street bearing 4 degrees 30 minutes sixty-two links to the point of (lommencement.
