AN ORDINANCE for securing to Samuel Golay, for a limited period, the exclusive benefit of a certain Invention.

[ 3rd August, 1868. ]

HEREAS Samuel Golay, of Paris, in the empire of France, Preamble.

Miller and Machinist, hath represented that he is in pos-

session of an invention for improvements in cutting and dressing

Millstones, and in apparatus to be employed for such purposes,

which invention he believes will be of great public utility within this Colony, and hath requested that an Ordinance may be passed securing to him, his executors, administrators, and assigns, the exclu-

sive benefit of such invention for a limited time :—Be it therefore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the Legisla- tive Council thereof, as follows:—

THE said Samuel Golay, his executors, administrators, and

invention,. or any part of the same, or in anywise counterfeit, imitate or resemble the same, or make or cause to be made, any addition thereto or subtraction from the same, whereby to pretend himself the inventor or devisor thereof, without the license of the said Samuel Golay, his executors, administrators, or assigns, the said Samuel Golay, his executors, administrators, and assigns shall have and be entitled to such and the like remedies against such person, both at Law and in Equity, as the Grantee in England of any Letters patent for any invention, would be entitled to in the like case by the Law of England.
