AN ACT to amend the Inventions Act, 1975.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
| 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Inventions | Short title |
| and citation. |
Act Amendment Act, 1978.
| (2) | In this Act the Inventions Act, 1975 is referred |
to as the principal Act.
| (3) | The principal Act as amended by this Act may |
be cited as the Inventions Act, 1975-1978.

Section 3
| Amended. | 2. Section 3 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the definition "invention" and substituting a definition as follows |
"invention" means
| (a) | any invention for which a patent has been granted under the Patents Act 1952, as subsequently amended, of the Parliament of the Common- wealth or which is the subject of an application for a patent made under that Act as so amended; or |
| (b) | any design which is registered under the Designs Act 1906, as sub- sequently amended, of the Parlia- ment of the Commonwealth or which is the subject of an application for registration made under that Act as so amended; . |
