INVALID AND OLD-AGE PENSIONS.

No. 44 of 1926.

An Act to amend sections sixteen and twenty-one of the Invalid and Old-age Pensions Act 1908–1925.

[Assented to 16th August, 1926.]

BE it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

Short title and citation.

1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Invalid and Old-age Pensions Act 1926.

(2.) The Invalid and Old-age Pensions Act 1908–1925 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

 

(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Invalid and Old-age, Pensions Act 1908–1926.

Commencement.

2.This Act shall commence on a date to be fixed by Proclamation.

Qualification of British Indians for old-age pension.

3.Section sixteen of the Principal Act is amended by inserting in paragraph (c) of sub-section (1.), after the word “Australia” (first occurring), the words “and Indians born in British India”.

Qualification of British Indians for invalid pension.

4. Section twenty-one of the Principal Act is amended by inserting in paragraph (b
