Interstate Road Transport Charge

Regulations2(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and having regard only to the cost of maintenance and upkeep of roads that are used by motor vehicles and trailers registered under the Interstate Road Transport Act 1985, being maintenance and upkeep that is required as a result of damage done by those motor vehicles and trailers, under section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 190 1, hereby make the following Regulations under the Interstate Road Transport Charge Act 1985.

Commencement

 1. These Regulations commence on 1 July 1988.

Principal Regulations

 2. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Interstate Road Transport Charge Regulations.

Charge applicable in respect of vehicle

 3. Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended:

  • (a)

    by omitting from paragraph (a) “3” and substituting “4”; and

  • (b)

    by omitting from paragraph (b)”.063” and substituting”.25”.

Imputed distance

 4. Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations is amended:

  • (a)

    by omitting from paragraph (a) “4” and “2” and substituting “5” and “2 of that item in respect of the maximum laden mass at which the vehicle operates or is to operate specified in column 3”, respectively; and

  • (b)

    by omitting from paragraph (b) “119,000” and substituting “100,000”.

Schedule

 5. The Schedule to the Principal Regulations is repealed and the following Schedule substituted:
