1 Name of Regulations

These Regulations are the Interstate Road Transport Charge

Regulations 2001.

2 Commencement

These Regulations commence on I October 2001.

3 Definition

In these Regulations:

Act means the Interstate Road Transport Charge Act 1985.

4 Alteration of amounts specified in the Schedule to the Act

For section 6 of the Act, the annual registration charges specified in Part 2 of the Schedule to the Act are altered so as

to be as set out in Schedule 1 to these Regulations.

Note Under section 6 of the Act, the regulations may alter the amounts

specified in the Schedule to the Act in relation to a year, but any alteration in relation to a year must not increase or decrease the amounts applicable to the previous year by more than 5%. The alterations made by regulation 4 and this Schedule increase the amounts specified in Part 2 of the Schedule to the Act by 3.3%, taken to the nearest dollar.

The amount of the charge applicable to a load carrying trailer, a converter dolly or a low loader dolly is worked out using the formula:

$310 x number of axles
