Interpretation (Amendment) Act 1994

An Act to amend the Interpretation Act 1967

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Interpretation (Amendment) Act 1994.
Commencement
2. (1) Sections 1, 2 and 3 commence on the day on which this Act is notified in the Gazette.
(2) Section 4 commences on the day on which sections 9 and 28 of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (Amendment) Act (No. 2) 1994 commence.
Principal Act
3. In this Act, “Principal Act” means the Interpretation Act 1967.1
Meaning of certain words
4. Section 14 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting in subsection (1) the following definition:
“ ‘Administrative Appeals Tribunal’ means the Australian Capital Territory Administrative Appeals Tribunal established by section 4 of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal Act 1989;”.
