No. 6 of 1970.

AN ACT to amend the Interpretation Act, 1918-1962.

[Assented to 29th April, 1970.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Interpre-

Every Act shall be read and construed the State and so as not to exceed that power to the intent that, where any enactment thereof, but for this section, would be construed as being in excess of that power, it shall neverthe- less be a valid enactment to the extent to which it is not in excess of that power. .
