1Name

This instrument is the International Organisations (Privileges and Immunities) (Declaration of Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation Related Meetings) Regulations 2022.

    Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3Authority

This instrument is made under the International Organisations (Privileges and Immunities) Act 1963.

4Definitions

Note: The expression international conference is used in this instrument and is defined in the Act.

Act means the International Organisations (Privileges and Immunities) Act 1963.

OCCAR means the Organisation for Joint Armament Co‑operation.

OCCAR meeting means an international conference relating to OCCAR.

5Act applies to OCCAR

For the purposes of subsection 5A(1) of the Act, OCCAR is declared to be an overseas organisation to which the Act applies.

6Privileges and immunities apply to OCCAR meetings

For the purposes of subsection 7(1) of the Act, OCCAR meetings held in Australia after the commencement of this instrument are declared to be conferences to which section 7 of the Act applies.

Note: This section will cease to be in force 12 months after the commencement of this instrument (see subsection 7(4) of the Act).
