Interim Forces Benefits Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Interim Forces Benefits Act 1947.

Interpretation

1. Regulation 4 of the Interim Forces Benefits Regulations is amended by omitting “the wife,” from the definition of “dependant” in sub-regulation (1) and substituting “a”.

Extension of regulations to female members

2. Regulation 32 of the Interim Forces Benefits Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (2) (b) all the words after “reference to” (second occurring) and substituting “a child of a female member, being a child that is without adequate means of support”; and

(b) by omitting sub-regulations (5) and (6).

The Schedule

3. The Schedule to the Interim Forces Benefits Regulations is amended by omitting “sub-section (3) of section 37 or” from the definition of “dependant” in Item (a) of the Part headed “(i) MODIFICATIONS”.
