Intergovernmental Committee for Migration (Privileges and Immunities) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the International Organizations (Privileges and Immunities) Act 1963.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Intergovernmental Committee for Migration (Privileges and Immunities) Regulations.

Citation

2. Regulation 1 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “Intergovernmental Committee” and substituting “International Organization”.

Interpretation

3. Regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting “Intergovernmental Committee” (first occurring) and substituting “International Organization”;

(b) by inserting “that is now known as the ‘International Organization for Migration’ ” after “European Migration”;

(c) by omitting the definition of “the Committee” and substituting the following definition:

“ ‘the Organization’ means the International Organization for Migration.”.

Act to apply to the Organization

4. Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “Committee” and substituting “Organization”.

Organization to have juridical personality and legal capacities

5. Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting “Committee —” and substituting “Organization :”;

(b) by omitting from paragraph (a) “with perpetual succession”.

Privileges and immunities of the Organization

6. Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “Committee” and substituting “Organization”.

Privileges and immunities of officers of the Organization

7. Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting from subregulation (1) “Committee” and substituting “Organization”;

(b) by omitting from subregulation (2) “Committee” (wherever occurring) and substituting “Organization”.
