Insurance Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Insurance Act 1973.

1. Amendment

1.1 The Insurance Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

2. Regulation 3 (References to forms)

2.1 Subregulation 3 (1):

Omit "to these Regulations"'.

3. Regulation 25 (Prescribed amount—subsection 44 (6))

3.1 Omit "$50,000", substitute "$250,000".

4. Regulation 28 (Prescribed fee—section 123)

4.1 Omit "$5", substitute "$10".

5. Regulation 29 (Copies of documents to be furnished by the Commissioner)

5.1 Omit the regulation, substitute:

Copies of documents to be provided by the Commissioner

"29. (1) The Commissioner must:

(a) on the request of a person; and

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

(b) on payment of the fee calculated in accordance with subregulation (2);

provide the person with a copy of the whole or part of a document referred to in paragraph 123 (b) of the Act.

"(2) The fee payable under subregulation (1) is:

(a) an amount calculated at the rate of $1 for each page of a copy of the whole or part of the document; or

(b) if, at the request of the person the copy of the document is made available in electronic form—an amount calculated at the rate of $1 for each page of the whole or part of the document that is provided in that form.".

6. The Schedule

6.1 Form 15:

Omit the form, substitute:
