This rule may be cited as the Instant Casket (TV Scratch-Its Bonus Game) Rule 1992 . Definitions 2. In this rule— “celebrity” means a person nominated under section 9(3) to act as the proxy of a contestant in a game; “contestant” means a person mentioned in section 7(3); “eligible ticket” means a ticket that is eligible, under the conditions specified on the ticket, to be entered in a game draw; “entrant” means a holder of an eligible ticket who— (a) is eligible, under this rule, to be an entrant in a game; and (b) enters the ticket in a game draw; “game” means a TV Scratch-Its Bonus Game conducted under this rule; “game draw” means the drawing of a ticket to get— (a) a contestant in the next game; and (b) a home viewer prize winner; “home viewer prize winner” means a person mentioned in section 8(2);

3 Instant Casket (TV Scratch-Its Bonus Game) No. 78, 1992 “instant casket” has the meaning given by section 1.2 of the Instant Casket Rule 1984 ; “instant casket (TV Scratch-Its Bonus Game)” means an instant casket— (a) part of which relates to an instant cash prize; and (b) the other part of which relates to the drawing of additional prizes in a game; “ticket” means that part of an instant casket (TV Scratch-Its Bonus Game) that relates to the drawing of additional prizes in a game. Application of Instant Casket Rule 1984 3. The Instant Casket Rule 1984 (other than section 5) applies to an instant casket (TV Scratch-Its Bonus Game). PART 2—TV SCRATCH-ITS BONUS GAME Eligibility to participate in game 4. Only an adult is eligible to be— (a) an entrant in a game; or (b) a contestant, or the proxy of a contestant. Numbering of games 5.(1) The Office must allocate a distinct identification number to each game in numerical order. (2) The first game must be number 1. Eligible tickets 6. The Office is to take all reasonable steps to ensure that eligible tickets received by the Office—

4 Instant Casket (TV Scratch-Its Bonus Game) No. 78, 1992 (a) before 8.30 am on the Friday of each week; or

5 Instant Casket (TV Scratch-Its Bonus Game) No. 78, 1992 (b) after the time mentioned in paragraph (a) if the ticket is received by an official agent before 2.00 pm on the day before the day mentioned in the paragraph; are included in the following game draw. Drawing of contestants 7.(1) The Office must place all eligible tickets received under section 6 in a barrel. (2) A person nominated by the Office is to draw 1 eligible ticket from the barrel. (3) The entrant of the ticket is the contestant for the following game. (4) The contestant’s name is to be announced immediately after the draw. Drawing of home viewer prize winner 8.(1) After the draw for the contestant, the person nominated by the Office is to draw 1 eligible ticket from the barrel. (2) The entrant of the ticket is the winner of the home viewer prize. (3) The home viewer prize winner’s name is to be announced immediately after the draw. (4) This section does not apply to the first game draw. Proxy contestants 9.(1) The Office must take all reasonable steps to contact a contestant. (2) A contestant may nominate a proxy to appear on the contestant’s behalf. (3) If— (a) the Office is unable to contact a contestant; or (b) a contestant fails to nominate an eligible proxy; or (c) a contestant, or the proxy of a contestant, fails to appear in a game; the Office, or its nominee, is to appoint a celebrity as the proxy of the

6 Instant Casket (TV Scratch-Its Bonus Game) No. 78, 1992 contestant for the game. (4) A decision of a proxy made during a game is binding on the contestant. Prizes 10.(1) There is to be a game board on which there are 5 boxes behind which cash prizes appear as follows— (a) 2 boxes—$5 000 each; (b) 2 boxes—$15 000 each; (c) 1 box—not less than $75 000. (2) The prize mentioned in subsection (1)(c) is the super bonus prize. Conduct of game—celebrity 11.(1) Subject to subsection (3), a celebrity must choose 3 boxes. (2) The prize behind the last chosen box is the prize won by the contestant for whom the celebrity is the proxy. (3) If the celebrity chooses the box behind which is the super bonus prize, the celebrity cannot choose another box. Conduct of game—player 12.(1) A player may, under this section, choose up to 3 boxes. (2) After the prize behind a chosen box is revealed, the player has 15 seconds in which to choose a further box. (3) If the player chooses the box behind which is the super bonus prize, the player cannot choose another box. (4) The prize revealed behind the box that is the last properly chosen box is the contestant’s prize. (5) In this section—

7 Instant Casket (TV Scratch-Its Bonus Game) No. 78, 1992 “player” means— (a) the contestant in the game; or (b) the proxy of the contestant, other than a celebrity. Jackpot of super bonus prize 13. If the super bonus prize is not won in a game, it is increased by $25 000 each game until it is won. Supervision of drawing 14.(1) Each game must be conducted under the supervision of a representative of the Office and of the Auditor-General. (2) Any decision by a representative in relation to the conduct of a game is binding on— (a) the contestant; and (b) entrants; and (c) other persons claiming prizes. PART 3—AMENDMENT OF INSTANT CASKET RULE Amended rule 15. The Instant Casket Rule is amended as set out in this Part. Replacement of s.1.1 16. Section 1.1— omit, insert— ‘1.1 This rule may be cited as the Instant Casket Rule 1984. ’.

(2) Section 1.3— insert— ‘ “prizewinner” includes a person who has won a prize under the Instant Casket (TV Scratch-Its Bonus Game) Rule 1992 ; ’. (3) Section 1.3— renumber as section 1.2. Amendment of s.4.3 19. Section 4.3— omit ‘ no other information or details ’, insert ‘ such other details as may be specified ’. Amendment of s.7.4 20.(1) Section 7.4 (after ‘ paid ’ )— insert ‘ or given ’. (2) Section 7.4— omit ‘ prizemoney ’, insert ‘ prize ’.
