INSPECTION OF SCAFFOLDING.

AN ACT to amend section two of, and regulation twenty- nine in the Schedule to, the Inspection of Scaffolding Act, 1924-1938.

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

Short title. 1.

This Act may be cited as the Inspection of Scaffold- ing Act Amendment Act, 1945, and shall be read as one with the Inspection of Scaffolding Act, 1924-1938 (No. 39 of 1924 as reprinted pursuant to the Amendments Incor- poration Act, 1938, in Volume 1 of The Reprinted Acts of the Parliament of Western Australia (1939)), herein- after referred to as the principal Act.

Section two of the principal Act is amended by

adding to the definition of "Horizontal base" a further

proviso as follows :—

Provided also, that in the case of scaffolding erected or used above any area of water, "Horizontal base" shall mean the bed of the water-way imme- diately below such area of water.

Amendment 3.

The regulations contained in the Schedule to the principal Act are amended by deleting from regulation twenty-nine thereof the words "trade and is a competent tradesman" in line five of such regulation, and inserting in lieu thereof the word "industry."
