AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Insane Persons and Inebriates (Committal and Detention) Agreement Ordinance 1936.

BE it ordained by the Governor-General in and over the Executive Council, in pursuance of the Seat of Government

Commonwealth of Australia, with the advice of the Federal

Acceptance Act 1909 and the Seat of Government (Administra-
tion) Act 1910-1933, as follows:—

1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Insane Persons Short title and

and Inebriates (Committal and Detention) Ordinance 1937.
(2.) The Insane Persons and Inebriates (Committal and Detention) Agreement Ordinance 1936 is in this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may be cited as the Insane Persons and Inebriates (Committal and Detention) Ordinance 1936-1937.

2. After section six of the Principal Ordinance the following validation,

section is inserted:—

" 7. Any act, matter or thing made, done or executed before the commencement of this Ordinance by any Court, Judge, Magistrate or Justice of the Peace of the Territory or by Justices of the Peace or a Stipendiary or Police Magistrate of the State, or by any officer of the Territory or of the State or any person whomso- ever, which would have been lawful if this Ordinance and the Agreement had been in force at the time the act, matter or thing was made, done or executed, shall be deemed to have been made, \lone or executed in accordance with law.".
