Inland Fisheries (Protected Fish) Order 1997

I make the following order under section 131(1) of the Inland Fisheries Act 1995 .15 December 1997

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Inland Fisheries (Protected Fish) Order 1997 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on 1 January 1998. 3InterpretationIn this order – Act means the Inland Fisheries Act 1995 ; giant freshwater crayfish means fish of the species (Astacopsis gouldi). 4Protected fishGiant freshwater crayfish is declared to be protected fish for the purposes of the Act.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order) This order declares giant freshwater crayfish to be protected fish for the purposes of the
