An Act relating to the Rates and Charges of the THE Inkerman Irrigation Board duly constituted INKERMAN IRRIGATION under "The Water Acts, 1926 to 1931"; BOARD (RATES AND and for other purposes. CHARGES) ACT OF 1934. [ASSENTED TO IITH OCTOBER, 1934.] Preamble. W HEREAS by an Order in Council dated the eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, made under *" The Rights in Water and Water Conservation and Utilization Act of 1910," that part of Queensland described in the said Order in Council was constituted a Water Supply Area under the name of "The Inkerman Water Supply Area," and a Water Board was constituted for the said Area under the name of "The Inkerman Water Supply Board" : And whereas, by virtue of the provisions of t" The Water Act of 1926," on the eleventh day of November, * 1 Geo. Act. one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, the Governor in Council did dissolve the said Board and remove from office the members thereof, and appoint the Commissioner of Irrigation and Water Supply to manage the affairs of the Inkerman Water Supply Area: And whereas by an Order in Council made under *" The Water Acts, 1926 to 1931," dated the twenty-third day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, the name of the said Area was altered to that of " The Inkerman Irrigation Area" : And whereas by virtue of the provisions of the last- mentioned Acts, on the nineteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, the Governor in Council did again constitute a Water Board for the said Area under the name of " The Inkerman Irrigation Board" : And whereas by an Order in Council dated the twenty-third day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, made under the last-mentioned Acts the Governor in Council did revoke as and from the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, the said appointment of the Commissioner of Irrigation and Water Supply: And whereas by an Order in Council made under t "The Electric Light and Power Act, 1896" dated the twenty-third day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, the said the Inkerman Irrigation Board was authorised to supply electricity within the said the Inkerman Irrigation Area as set forth in the First Schedule to such Order in Council- Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Maj esty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : - 1. This Act may be cited as " The Inkerman Short title Irrigation Board (Rates and Charges) Act of 1934," and ::;struction. shall where necessary be read as one with and as an amendment of >le" The Water Acts, 1926 to 1931," and t" The Liens on Crops of Sugar Cane Acts, 1931 to 1933." * 17 Geo. In addition to any remedy which the Inkerman b el y ecthtreicity Irrigation Board may have against the owner or occupier Inkerman of any premises who neglects to pay any charge for IBroriagradt.ion electricity or any other sum due from him to the said Board in respect of the supply of electricity to him, such charge or sum, as the case may be, together with interest (if any) due thereon shall be and remain a charge upon the lands of such person, together with any improvements and crops for the time being thereon, and such charge shall, as against any lien duly registered under and in accordance with *" The Liens on Crops of Sugar Cane Act of 1931," be and constitute a prior charge against such crops. Act Amendment Act of 1933" in respect of any fumigant for the purpose of the control of cane pests supplied to any owner of such crop by any Cane Pest Board constituted under the provisions of t" The Sugar Experiment Stations Acts, 190Q to 1923," being the cost of such fumigant so supplied by such Board and the cost to the Board of the application thereof, and such charge shall as against any charge created by this Act, be and constitute a prior charge against such crops. * 22 Geo.
