1  Name of principle

This principle is the Information Amendment (AIHW) Principle 2013.

2  Commencement

This principle commences on 1 July 2013.

3  Authority

This principle is made under the Aged Care Act 1997.

4  Schedule(s)

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Information Principles 1997

1  Paragraph 16.5(1)(e)

Repeal the paragraph, substitute:

(e)   to the Aged Care Commissioner, to assist the Commissioner to perform    his or her functions; or

2  Paragraph 16.5(1)(f)

Insert the paragraph:

(f)   to the chief executive officer of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, to assist the body to perform its functions under the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare Act 1987, subject to the confidentiality and other information protection provisions in that Act, including but not limited to section 29.
