An Act to appropriate and apply out of the

Consolidated Revenue Fund of New South

Wales a sum by way of compensation to
the Infantry arm of the Military Forces of New South Wales on the disembodi- ment of that branch of the said Forces.

[31st December, 1872.]

Wales in Parliament assembled have granted to Your Majesty the WHEREAS we Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects the Members of the Legislative Assembly of New South
sum of Four thousand one hundred and ninety-eight pounds ten
shillings as compensation at the rate of six months pay per man

to the Officers Non-commissioned Officers and Privates of the two Companies of Infantry engaged under the " Military and Naval Forces Regulation A c t " upon the disembodiment of that branch of the said Forces And whereas we desire to make good out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales the sum so granted to your Majesty as aforesaid Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legisla- tive Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parlia- ment assembled and by the authority of the same as follows :—

1 . The sum of Four thousand one hundred and ninety-eight

pounds ten shillings shall be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the said Consolidated Revenue Fund and shall be issued and applied according to the scale set forth in the Schedule hereto being at the rate of six months pay per man to the Officers Non-commissioned Officers and Privates therein specified whose services were engaged under the said Act as compensation for their disembodiment.

2. The Colonial Treasurer shall issue and pay the said sum to such persons for the purposes hereinbefore mentioned in such manner and in such proportions as the Governor by any warrant or order in writing under his hand and directed to the said Treasurer shall from time to time order and direct and the payments so to be made shall be charged upon and payable out of the said Consolidated Revenue

3. The said Treasurer shall in his Accounts from time to time be allowed credit for any sura or sums of money paid by him in pursuance of such warrant or order in writing as aforesaid and the receipt or receipts of the respective persons to whom the same shall be so paid shall be a full and valid discharge to the said Treasurer in passing his said Accounts for any such sum or sums as shall be therein mentioned and he shall receive credit for the same accordingly.

4. Nothing in this Act which may be cited as the " Infantry Disembodiment Compensation Act of 1872" shall affect or in any manner alter or vary any of the provisions contained in the " Audit Act of 1870."
