AN ACT to amend the Industry (Advances)

Act, 1947.

[Assented to 8th October, 1959.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Industry and citation.

(Advances) Act Amendment Act, 1959.

(2) In this Act the Industry (Advances) Act,

1947, is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Industry (Advances) Act, 1947- 1959.

Long title

amended. 2. The long title to the principal Act is amended

by adding after the word, "industry" in line four,

the words, "or in a particular building activity".

added. 3. The principal Act is amended by adding after

section three the following section-

Financial

assistance to	3A. (1) Notwithstanding the interpretation the Rural and Industries Bank Act, 1944, the Treasurer may render financial assistance under and in accordance with the provisions of section three of this Act, to a company known as Canterbury Court Pty. Ltd. in relation to the erection and completion by or for that Company of a building on the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title Volume 1158, Folio 713.

(2) The powers exercisable by the Treasurer under subsection (1) of this section may be exercised whether or not the building has been erected or completed before the coming into operation of the Industry (Advances) Act Amendment Act, 1959.

For the purposes of this Act, the interpre- tation of the expression, "Industry" in section six of the Rural and Industries Bank Act, 1944, is deemed to include the building activity carried on by or on behalf of the Company on the land referred to in subsection (1) of this section.
