Industrial Development Act Amendment Act of 1964
49 (01teenstattit ANNO TERTIO DECIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 5 of 1964 An Act to Amend " The Industrial Development Act of 1963," in certain particulars [ASSENTED To 31ST MARCH, 1964] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. (1) Short title . This Act may be cited as " The Industrial Development Act Amendment Act of 1964." (2) Principal Act. " The Industrial Development Act of 1963 " is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) Collective title. The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively cited as " The Industrial Development Acts, 1963 to 1964." (4) Commencement . This Act shall come into operation on a date to be fixed by the Governor in Council by Proclamation published in the Gazette.
50 Industrial Development Act Amendment Act of 1964, No. 5 2. Amendment of s. 3 . Section three of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the definition " Director-General " and inserting in its stead the following definition:- Diirreeccttoorr "-The officer appointed under " The Public Service Acts, 1922 to 1963," to be the Director of Industrial Development. The term includes any person for the time being carrying out the duties of that office; ". 3. Amendments of s. 4 . Section four of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in the first paragraph omitting the words " Director-General of Industry " and inserting in their stead the words " Director of Industrial Development "; and (b) omitting the second paragraph. 4. Amendments of s. 7. Section seven of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting the words " Director-General of Industry " where appearing in the note to that section which appears in and at the beginning thereof and wherever appearing in that section and inserting in the stead of the words so omitted, wheresoever omitted, the word " Director "; (b) omitting the words " and in particular shall ", where appearing in subsection (1) immediately before paragraph (a), and inserting in their stead the words " and in particular may "; and - (c) omitting the words " said Director-General ", where appearing in subsection (4) and inserting in their stead the word " Director ". 5. Amendments of s. 8 . Section eight of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words " Director-General of Industry ", wherever those words appear therein, and inserting in their stead, wheresoever omitted, the word " Director ". 6. Amendments of s. 9 . Section nine of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting the words " Director-General of Industry ", wherever those words appear therein, and inserting in their stead, wheresoever omitted, the word " Director "; and (b) omitting the words " said Director-General ", where appearing in subsection (1), and inserting in their stead the word " Director ". 7. Amendments of s. 10 . Section ten of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting the words " Director-General of Industry " and inserting in their stead the word " Director "; and (b) omitting the words " said Director-General ", wherever those words appear therein, and inserting in their stead wheresoever omitted, the word " ° Director ". 8. Amendments of s. 11 . Section eleven of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting the words Director-General of Industry " where appearing in subsections (2) and (3), and inserting in their stead wheresoever omitted, the word " Director ";
Industrial Development Act Amendment Act of 1964, No. 5 51 (b) adding to subsection (4) the following paragraphs- " The Governor in Council may appoint another of the members to be the deputy chairman of the Board. The chairman shall preside at all meetings of the Board at which he is present and in his absence the deputy chairman shall so preside. If both the chairman and deputy chairman are absent the members present at the meeting may appoint one of their number to act as chairman of the meeting and the member so appointed may so act."; (c) in subsection (5), inserting after the word " chairman " the words " and deputy chairman "; (d) in subsection (7) omitting the second and third paragraphs. 9. Amendment of s. 22 (1). Subsection (1) of section twenty-two of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the word " Director-General " and inserting in its stead the word " Director ". 10. Amendment of s. 29 (1). Subsection (1) of section twenty-nine of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words " Director-General of Industry " and inserting in their stead the word " Director ".
