Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989.

1.  Amendment

1.1  The Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

2.  Regulation 6 (Inspection of Inventory)

2.1  Omit the regulation, substitute:

Inspection of Inventory

“6.

For the purposes of paragraph 15 (b) of the Act, copies of the non-confidential section of the Inventory may be inspected by the public at the Library during inspection times.”.

3.  Regulation 10 (Inspection of reports)

3.1  Omit the regulation, substitute:

Inspection of reports

“10.

For the purposes of subsection 78 (1) of the Act, copies of the full public report about a chemical may be inspected by the public at the Library during inspection times.”.

4.  Regulation 11 (Inspection of Material Safety Data Sheets)

4.1  Omit the regulation, substitute:

Inspection of Material Safety Data Sheets

“11.

For the purposes of subsection 78 (2) of the Act, copies of the Material Safety Data Sheet (if any) for a chemical may be inspected by the public at the Library during inspection times.”.

5.  Regulation 12 (Inspection of Chemical Gazette)

5.1  Omit the regulation, substitute:

Inspection of Chemical Gazette

“12.

For the purposes of section 107 of the Act, copies of each Chemical Gazette that contains a notice under the Act may be inspected by the public at the Library during inspection times.”.
