The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Indigenous Education (Targeted Assistance) Amendment Act (No. 2) 2013.

2Commencement

1. (1)

   Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Indigenous Education (Targeted Assistance) Act 2000

Subsection 3(1)

Omit “during the 2001 to 2014 calendar years”.

Section 4 (definition of funding year)

Omit “, the 2013 calendar year, or any calendar year between those years”, substitute “or a later calendar year”.

At the end of section 13

Add:

Note: The appropriation for non‑ABSTUDY payments is included in annual Appropriation Acts.

Sections 14, 14A and 14B

Repeal the sections.

Sections 14C and 15

Repeal the sections.
