His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal Act 1992.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to update the names of certain energy distributors in the list of government agencies contained in Schedule l to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal Act 1992.

The names inserted are:

• Advance Energy (formerly MidState Energy)

• Australian Inland Energy (formerly Far West Energy)

• EnergyAustralia (formerly MetNorth Energy)

• Integral Energy Australia (formerly MetSouth Energy)
NorthPower (formerly NorthPower Energy)

The Regulation is made under section 11 of the Act.

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal Act Amendment (Names of Agencies) Regulation 1996.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 7 June 1996.

3 Amendment of Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal Act 1992 No 39

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal Act 1992 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.
