AN ACT to amend the Indecent Publications and

Articles Act 1902-1974.

[Assented to 1 December 1983.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Indecent 21ffMIttlieon,

Publications and Articles Amendment Act 1983.

(2) In this Act the Indecent Publications and Reprinted

Articles Act 1902-1974 is referred to as the principalis

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Indecent Publications and Articles Act 1902-1983.

Commence-

ment.

2. This Act shall come into operation on a day

to be fixed by proclamation.

Section 11A

amended.

3. Section 11A of the principal Act is amended

(a)

in subsection (2) by deleting "a fee of twenty-five dollars" and substituting the following-

" the prescribed fee "; and

(b)

in subsection (4) by deleting "a fee of twenty-five dollars" and substituting the following-

" the prescribed fee ".

Section 15

inserted.

4. After section 14 of the principal Act the

following section is inserted-

Regulations.

15. The Governor may make regulations prescribing the fees to be paid under this Act and providing for the payment and recovery of such fees. ".
