WHEREAS in the 11th and 12th year of the reign of Her

WHEREA

Majesty, a certain Act of the Imperial Parliament was passed, intituled an " Act for the removal of defects in the admin- istration of Criminal Justice," and whereas it is expedient to adopt and apply the said Act in the administration of Justice in Western

Australia

14th Viet., No. 3.

1849.

Australia:—Be it therefore enacted, by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia, by and with the advice and con- sent of the Legislative Council thereof, that the said Act, and every clause, provision, and enactment thereof, shall be, and the same is hereby adopted, and directed to be applied in the ad- ministration of Justice, so far as it can be applied to the circum- stances of this Colony : Provided always, and be it enacted, that the power which by the fourth section of the aforesaid Act is given to Courts of Oyer and Terminer and General Gaol Delivery, shall or may with; n the said Colony, be exercised by any Com t of General or Quarter Sessions of the Peace.
