An Act for adopting and applying (with certain modifi-

cations and exceptions) an Act of Parliament intituled

An Act to abolish Forfeitures for Treason' and Felony

and to otherwise amend the law relating thereto'

the Administration of Justice in the Colony of

Western Australia.

[Assented to 11th July, 1873.

HEREAS a certain Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom

Preamble

Whundred and seventy, intituled ' An Act to abolish Forfeitures forwas passed in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight

Treason and Felony and to otherwise amend the law relating thereto ; ' and whereas it is expedient to adopt the said Act in this Colony with certain modifications and exceptions : Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows :—

Criminal Law

Imperial Act 33

1. The said Act, save as is hereinafter provided and subject to the

modifications hereinafter set forth, shall be and the same is hereby adopted and directed to be applied in the administration of justice in the said Colony.

Certain sections

2. The second, thirty-second and thirty-third sections of the said

Act shall not be nor are the said sections hereby adopted or directed

to be applied as aforesaid.

Certain terms in

3. The following words and terms, as used in the said Act, shall

to be omitted be omitted in applying the said Act in this Colony :—' Her Majesty,'

and other words Her Royal Sign Manual,' Her Majesty's Attorney-General or other

to be substEnted Chief Law Officer of the Crown for the time being in any part of Her

Majesty's Dominions,' and in lieu thereof there shall be inserted in each such case respectively the words :—' The Governor of this Colony,' `his hand,' 'Her Majesty's Attorney-General for the Colony of Western Australia.'
