Application to terminate the Journalists (John Fairfax Group) Award 2001.

[1] This decision arises from an application by Fairfax Media Publications, The Age Co. Ltd Newcastle Newpapers Pty Ltd and Illawarra Newspapers Holdings Pty Ltd to terminate the Journalists (John Fairfax Group) Award 2001.

[2] The application was made pursuant to Item 5(4) of Schedule 6 of the Fair Work (Transitional Provisions & Consequential Amendments) Act 2009.

[3] I am satisfied that the factors to be taken into account when considering an application to terminate Enterprise Instruments have been satisfied particularly the views of the persons covered by the Instrument.

[4] The applications are granted and the Award is terminated. The termination shall be effective from 23 September 2011.
