Ida Bay Railway Repeal Act 2001

An Act to repeal the Ida Bay Railway Act 1977

[Royal Assent 26 April 2001]

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Ida Bay Railway Repeal Act 2001 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3InterpretationIn this Act, repealed Act means the Ida Bay Railway Act 1977 . 4Ida Bay Railway Act 1977 repealedThe Ida Bay Railway Act 1977 is repealed. 5Savings and transitionalOn the commencement of this Act – (a) a lease granted under the repealed Act – (i) is taken to be a lease granted under section 26 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1970 ; and (ii) is subject to the same terms and conditions as it was under the repealed Act; and (iii) continues in force for the remainder of the period for which it was granted or renewed; and (b) the Railway Management Act 1935 does not apply in relation to the lease. 6Administration of ActUntil provision is made in relation to this Act by order under section 4 of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990  – (a) the administration of this Act is assigned to the Minister for Primary Industries, Water and Environment; and (b) the department responsible to the Minister for Primary Industries, Water and Environment in relation to the administration of this Act is the Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment.
