His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Hunter Water Act 1991.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Hunter Water Corporation Limited (Special Areas) Regulation 1997 to make provision for the protection of waters within the North Stockton Catchment Area, an area declared by order under section 53 of the Hunter Water Act 1991 to be a special area under that Act (see the Hunter Water (North Stockton Catchment Area) Order 1999).

This Regulation also changes the name of that Regulation as a consequence of the change of name of the corporation responsible for the management of the area, and updates a reference to the Act under which this Regulation is made. This Regulation is made under sections 57 and 70 of the Hunter Water Act 1991.

This Regulation commences on 3 December 1999.

The Hunter Water Corporation Limited (Special Areas) Regulation

1997 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

[1]      Clause 1 Name of Regulation

Omit “Corporation Limited”.

[2]      Clause 3 Definitions

Insert after the definition of Nelson’s Bay Catchment Area the following definition:

North Stockton Catchment Area means the area of land declared to be a special area by the Hunter Water (North Stockton Catchment Area) Order 1999 made under section 53 of the Act, as described in that Order and illustrated on maps available for inspection at the office of the Department of Land and Water Conservation at Newcastle West.

Omit “Board (Corporatisation)”.

Insert “the North Stockton Catchment Area and” after “applies to”.
