Regulation under the Human Tissue Act 1983.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend the blood donor certificate that must be signed before any blood may be removed or used for the purposes of a blood transfusion or certain other therapeutic, medical or scientific purposes to make it clear that the donor must certify whether or not he or she has had an illness in the previous year with symptoms that included both a rash and swollen glands.
This Regulation is made under the Human Tissue Act 1983, including sections 20D (2) and 39 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Human Tissue Amendment (Blood Donor Certificate)
Regulation 2014.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on 6 July 2014 and is required to be published on the
NSW legislation website.
3 Amendment of Human Tissue Regulation 2010
Schedule 1 Blood donor certificate
Omit “swollen glands and a rash” from question 5.
Insert instead “both a rash and swollen glands”.
