The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:
1.Purposes
The purposes of this Act are to amend the Human Services (Complex Needs) Act 2003—
(a)to extend the operation of that Act for two further years; and
(b)to increase the number of members of the Multiple and Complex Needs Panel from 7 to 14.
2.Commencement
This Act comes into operation on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
3.Constitution of the Panel
In section 6(1) of the Human Services (Complex Needs) Act 2003—
(a)for "7" substitute "14";
(b)in paragraph (b), for "5" substitute "12".
4.New section 32A inserted
After section 32 of the Human Services (Complex Needs) Act 2003 insert—
"32A.Transitional provision—Human Services (Complex Needs) (Amendment) Act 2006
Despite the alteration made to the constitution of the Panel by section 3 of the Human Services (Complex Needs) (Amendment) Act 2006, the Panel must be taken to be the same body after the commencement of that Act as it was before that commencement.".
5.Expiry of Act
In section 33 of the Human Services (Complex Needs) Act 2003, for "third" substitute "fifth".
