Act No. 7, 1981.

An Act to amend the Housing Indemnities Act, 1962, as a con- sequence of the enactment of the Co-operation (Amendment) Act, 1981, and for the purposes of statute law revision. [Assented to, 6th April, 1981.]

Housing Indemnities (Co-operation) Amendment.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the "Housing Indemnities (Co-

operation) Amendment Act, 1981".

Commencement.

2.      (1) This section and section 1 shall commence on the date

of assent to this Act.

(2) Except as provided in subsection (1), this Act shall commence on the day appointed and notified under section 2 (2) of the Co-operation (Amendment) Act, 1981.

Amendment of Act No. 4, 1962.

3. The Housing Indemnities Act, 1962, is amended—

Sec. 2.

(Interpretation.)

(a) (i) by omitting from the definition of "Institution" in section 2 ( 1 ) the words "under the Co-operation Act, 1923-1962" and by inserting instead the words "under the Permanent Building Societies Act, 1967";

(ii)   by omitting the definition of "Prescribed" in section

2 (1) ;

(iii) by omitting section 2 (2) ;

Sec. 10.

(Administrator.)

(b) by omitting from section 10 (2) the matter "Subsection

(6A) of section 115 of the Co-operation Act, 1923-

1962" and by inserting instead the matter "Section 115

( 6 A ) of the Co-operation Act, 1923".
