Hospitals (Services Charges) Amendment

Regulations 2005

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.            Citation

These regulations are the Hospitals (Services Charges)
Amendment Regulations 2005.

2.            The regulations amended

The amendments in these regulations are to the Hospitals
(Services Charges) Regulations 1984*.

3.             Regulation 4 amended

Regulation 4(1) is amended as follows:

(a)

in the definition of "participating hospital" by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (b)

"PBS price" means the price specified in the PBS list;

(ba) Fremantle Hospital;

(b)

by deleting the definition of "PBS price" and inserting the following definitions instead —

"PBS list" means the list of drugs and medications set out in the document "Schedule of Pharmaceutical Benefits for Approved Pharmacists and Medical

Practitioners" published from time to time by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing for the purposes of the National Health Act 1953 of the Commonwealth;

4.            Schedule 1 amended

Schedule 1 item 5 is deleted and the following item is inserted instead —

5. Drugs and medication, for each item —

(a) for holders of an entitlement card no charge
(b) for other people who are —
war service veterans who hold a —
personal treatment entitlement card; or
specific treatment entitlement card
pensioners; or
concessional beneficiaries $4.60

(c) for all other people —

(i) at a participating hospital —

(I) for an item on the PBS list PBS price
up to a
maximum
of $28.60
(II) for an item not on the PBS list $22.90

(ii) at a hospital that is not a

participating hospital $22.90
