An Act to amend an Act intituled " An Act to

" enable certain Public Hospitals to sue and be. " sued in the name of their Treasurer and to " provide for the taking and, holding of Ileal

" Property belonging to such Hospitals respee-

" tively." ' [5th September., 1849.1

WH E R E A S an Ac t was passed in the eleventh year of t he reign	of H e r present Majesty in t i tu led	" Anc ACT to enable,	certain
" Public	Hospitals	to me and be sued in the name of their	Treasurer

" to such Hospitals respectively" A n d whereas it is expedient to amend the said reci ted Act and to provide for the more effectual t ak ing of votes at any publ ic mee t ing of the cont r ibu tors to any Publ ic Hospi ta l established or to be established unde r the provisions of the said recited Act Be it therefore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of N e w South Wales wi th the advice and consent of the; Legislat ive Council thereof Tha t it shall be lawful for any contr ibutor to any such Hosp i t a l duly qualified to vote unde r t h e provisions of t h e said recited Act to give his or her vote at any legally convened publ ic meet ing of the cont r ibu tors to any such Hospi ta l ei ther in person or by proxy as he or she may th ink proper Provided tha t such proxy shall also be a cont r ibutor duly qualified as aforesaid and every ques t ion of election of publ ic officers or other ma t t e r s or th ings which shall be proposed discussed or considered in any publ ic mee t ing of the cont r ibu tors to any such Hospital shall be determined and declared by the majori ty of votes and proxies then and there present Provided t h a t such p roxy shall be in wri t ing and shall be signed by t h e con­ t r ibu tor and shall only ex tend to t he one mee t ing specially named therein. 2,

A n d be it declared and enacted Tha t no person shall hereafter be qualified to vote at any mee t ing of cont r ibutors to any such Hosp i t a l for election of the Trus tees or Treasurer or Commit tees or o ther officers of the said ins t i tu t ion unless he shall have ac tual ly paid his a n n u a l cont r ibut ion or sum of one pound s ter l ing a t t h e least or shall have cont r ibuted and paid ten pounds in one sum to t h e said ins t i tu t ion .
