B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. This Act may be cited as " The Ho~ pitals Acts Sh~rt title Amendment Act of 1946," and shall be read as one with :nstruotion. *" The Hospitals Acts, 1936 to 1944," herein referred to as the Principal Act. The Principal Act and this Act may collectively~ lleotive be cited as " The Hospitals Acts, 1936 to 1946 " tItle. Amendments of the Principal Act. 2. (ii.) In respect of filling any such position of secretary referred to in paragraph (i.) of this subsection the Public Service Commissioner shall take into considera- tion the then existing salary and/or classification, the length of service, the nature of the service, special qualifications, and such other acts, matters, and things as he shall consider necessary and desirable in respect of any such applicant under the provisions of the said paragraph (i.) of this subsection. Any such person subsequently appointed as aforesaid to the office of secretary shall be and be deemed to be an officer of the Public Service and subject to *" The Public Service Acts, 1922 to 1945," and t" The Public Service Superannuation Acts, 1912 to 1937," accordingly."
