Home Deposit Assistance Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Home Deposit Assistance Act 1982.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations “Principal Regulations” means the Home Deposit Assistance Regulations.

Prescribed earnings

2. Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “18,900” and “21,700” and substituting “21,700” and “24,900” respectively.

Relevant amounts for the purposes of sub-section 39 (4) of the Act

3. Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) “$21,700” and substituting “$24,300”; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) “$24,900” and substituting “$27,900”.

Application

4. Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2) and substituting the following sub-regulation:

“(2) Regulation 4 applies to and in relation to an application for a grant under the Act by an applicant, or by applicants—

(a) in the case of an applicant or applicants to whom a direction has been given under sub-section 37 (1) of the Act—in relation to whom the prescribed date for the purposes of the Act is a date later than 17 March 1982 and not later than 30 June 1982; and

(b) in any other case—in relation to whom the date that is the prescribed date for the purposes of the Act is a date later than 30 June 1982.”.

Application of Principal Regulations as amended by these Regulations

5. (1) Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations as amended by these Regulations applies to and in relation to an application for a grant under the Home Deposit Assistance Act 1982 by an applicant, or by applicants, in relation to whom the date that is the prescribed date for the purposes of that Act is a date later than 30 June 1982 and not later than 30 June 1983.

(2) Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations as amended by these Regulations applies to and in relation to an application for a grant under the Act by an applicant, or by applicants—

(a) in the case of an applicant or applicants to whom a direction has been given under sub-section 37 (1) of the Act—in relation to whom the prescribed date for the purposes of the Act is a date later than 30 June 1982 and not later than 30 June 1983; and

(b) in any other case—in relation to whom the date that is the prescribed date for the purposes of the Act is a date later than 30 June 1983.
