Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to ensure that the checklist for owners who are entering into building contracts reflects the recent changes to the Home Building Act 1989 which relate to the increase of the threshold for insuring contract work to $20,000.

This Regulation is made under the Home Building Act 1989, including section 140 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Home Building Amendment (Owners Checklist)
Regulation 2011.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the

NSW legislation website.

Schedule 3 Additional contract provisions

Omit “$12,000” from item 11 of the Checklist. Insert instead “$20,000”.
