Home Building Amendment Act 1999 New South Wales

No 26—Proclamation

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Home Building Amendment Act 1999, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 November 1999 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence the remaining uncommenced provisions of the Home Building Amendment Act 1999, which relate to the establishment of a new regime that makes the ability to comply with insurance requirements a prerequisite to the granting, renewal or restoration of a licence, and provides for the Director-General to suspend a licence if the Director- General is of the opinion that the holder of the licence has not complied with the holder’s insurance obligations.
