Holidays (Reconciliation Day) Amendment Act 2017

An Act to amend the Holidays Act 1958

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1. Name of Act

   This Act is the Holidays (Reconciliation Day) Amendment Act 2017.

2. Commencement

   This Act commences on 1 January 2018.

   NoteThe naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act, s 75 (1)).

3. Legislation amended

   This Act amends the Holidays Act 1958.

4. Public holidays
   New section 3 (1) (a) (viiia)

   insert

   (viiia)27 May (Reconciliation Day), or, if that day is not a Monday, the following Monday;

5. Section 3 (1) (a) (x)

   omit

6. Section 3 (6), definition of Family and Community Day

   omit
