Holidays Act Amendment Act 1989, No. 8 51 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Holidays Act Amendment Act 1989. (2) In this Act the Holidays Act 1983-1985 is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Holidays Act 1983-1989. 2. Amendment of s. 4 . Public holidays. Section 4 of the Principal Act is amended in subsection (2) by omitting the words "any of the days set out in Part III falls on a day other than a Monday" and substituting the words "the day set out in Part III falls on a day other than a Monday or the day set out in Part IV falls on either a Saturday or a Sunday,". 3. Amendment of Schedule . The Schedule of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in Part III, omitting the words "The Twenty-sixth day of January (Australia Day)"; (b) adding after Part III, the following Part:- "PART IV The Twenty-sixth day of January (Australia Day)".
