under the History Trust of South Australia Act 1981

1Short title

These regulations may be cited as the History Trust of South Australia Regulations 2010.

3Interpretation

In these regulations—

Act means the History Trust of South Australia Act 1981;

premises includes—

  1. (a)

    land; and

  2. (b)

    a part of premises.

4Acting with approval of Trust or authorised officer
  1. (1)

    These regulations do not prevent a person from doing anything with the approval of the Trust or an authorised officer or otherwise with lawful authority.

  2. (2)

    An approval given by the Trust or an authorised officer for the purposes of these regulations—

    1. (a)

      must be in writing or, if given orally, must be confirmed in writing as soon as practicable; and

    2. (b)

      may relate to a particular person or matter or persons or matters of a class specified by the Trust or authorised officer; and

    3. (c)

      may be subject to conditions (including a condition requiring payment of a fee) specified by the Trust or authorised officer; and

    4. (d)

      may be varied or revoked by the Trust or authorised officer at any time.

  3. (3)

    If the Trust or an authorised officer gives approval subject to a condition, the person to whom the approval is given must not contravene or fail to comply with the condition.

Maximum penalty: $200.

7Children under 10 must be accompanied on Trust premises
  1. (1)

    A person having the custody or care of a child under the age of 10 years must not permit the child to enter, or remain on, premises of the Trust unless accompanied by, and under the care of, a person who is at least 15 years of age.

Maximum penalty: $500.

  1. (2)

    A child under the age of 10 years must not enter, or remain on, premises of the Trust unless accompanied by, and under the care of, a person who is at least 15 years of age.

  2. (3)

    This regulation does not apply in relation to an area set aside for the purpose of the consumption of food and beverages.

8Prohibited acts

A person must not do any of the following:

  1. (a)

    touch or in any way interfere with an exhibit on premises of the Trust, a case containing such an exhibit or a sign associated with such an exhibit;

  2. (b)

    smoke while on premises of the Trust;

  3. (c)

    consume food or a beverage while on premises of the Trust except in an area set aside for that purpose;

  4. (d)

    bring an animal (other than a guide dog) onto premises of the Trust;

  5. (e)

    deposit litter on premises of the Trust except in a receptacle set aside for litter;

  6. (f)

    sell or offer for sale anything while on premises of the Trust;

  7. (g)

    distribute material or display a banner, placard or sign while on premises of the Trust;

  8. (h)

    photograph, copy or reproduce an exhibit, or a sign associated with an exhibit, on premises of the Trust.

Maximum penalty: $500.
