1  Name

This instrument is the Higher Education Support (Maximum Grant Amounts under Division 41 for 2021) List 2020.

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under subsection 41-50(1) of the Act.

4  Definitions

In this instrument:

Act means the Higher Education Support Act 2003.

5  List of maximum grant amounts

  The maximum amounts of all grants which may be paid in 2021 for each purpose specified in the table in section 41-10 of the Act are set out in the following table:

Item 7	To support research by, and the research capability of, higher education providers	The total amount determined under section 41-45 of the Act
Item 8	To support the training of research students	The total amount determined under section 41-45 of the Act
Item 9	To foster collaboration and reform in higher education	The total amount determined under section 41-45 of the Act
Item 9A	To Support diversity and structural reform	The total amount determined under section 41-45 of the Act

Item 10	To support the development of systemic infrastructure used by higher education providers	The total amount determined under section 41-45 of the Act
Item 11(a)	For activities that assure and enhance the quality of Australia’s higher education sector	The total amount determined under section 41-45 of the Act
Item 11(b)	For activities that foster an understanding of the importance of, or promote research and scholarship in, science, social science or the humanities in Australia	The total amount determined under section 41-45 of the Act
