Amendments to Guidelines made under section 238-10 of the Higher Education Support Act 2003

I, Julia Gillard, Minister for Education pursuant to section 238-10 of the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (‘the Act’), make the attached amendments to the Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines No.1, which provide for matters under Part 2-2 and section 93-10 of the Act.

Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines No.1

Amendment No. 2

(i)     CITATION

These guidelines may be cited as Amendment No. 2 to the Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines No.1.

(ii)     AUTHORITY

These guidelines are made under section 238-10 of the Higher Education Support Act 2003.

(iii)     DATE OF EFFECT

These guidelines will come into effect the day after registration on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.

(iv)    AMENDMENT

These Guidelines amend the Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines No. 1 which were registered on 12 December 2006, which commenced on 13 December 2006 (see F2006L04079) and which were amended on 5 September 2007 (see F2007L03523).

PURPOSE

  • The purpose of this amendment is to remove Chapter 7 of the Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines No.1, thereby removing the imposition on higher education providers of the Higher Education Workplace Relations Requirements and the National Governance Protocols.

  • The Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines No. 1 are amended as follows:

  • Delete Chapter 7 in its entirety and replace with the following:
