I, PETER JOHN HOLLINGWORTH, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Higher Education Funding Act 1988.

Part 1Preliminary

  

1Name of Regulations

These Regulations are the Higher Education Funding Regulations 2002.

2Commencement

These Regulations commence on gazettal.

3Definition

In these Regulations:

Act means the Higher Education Funding Act 1988.

Part 2Fees

4Application fees — Chapter 5C of the Act

For paragraph 106ZQ (2) (a) of the Act, the following fees are prescribed:

  1. (a)

    for an application for approval of a person as a self‑accrediting entity in relation to an external Territory — $40 000;

  2. (b)

    for an application for accreditation in relation to an external Territory of each course the person proposes to offer — $10 000.

5Time of payment of application fee

For paragraph 106ZQ (2) (c) of the Act, a person lodging an application under subsection 106ZQ (1) of the Act must pay a fee mentioned in regulation 4 at the time the application is lodged.
