Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Higher Education Act 2001.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to increase the fees prescribed in Schedule 1 to the Higher Education Regulation 2008 by 3.7 per cent. The increases are in line with movements in the Labour Price Index with respect to the public sector (rounded to the nearest $10).
This Regulation is made under the Higher Education Act 2001, including section 25 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Higher Education Amendment (Fees) Regulation
2010.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on 1 July 2010* and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.
* The regulation (statutory rule) appointed 1 July 2010 as the date of its commencement. Pursuant to section 39 (2A) of the Interpretation Act 1987, the regulation is not invalid merely because the regulation was published on the NSW legislation website after the day on which one or more of its provisions is or are expressed to take effect, but provides, in that case, for that or those provisions to take effect from the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website, instead of from the earlier day.

Approval to provide courses of study to overseas students
