Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Higher Education Act 2001.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to increase the fees prescribed in Schedule 1 to the Higher Education Regulation 2008. The increases are in line with movements in the Labour Price Index with respect to the public sector.

This Regulation is made under the Higher Education Act 2001, including section 25 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Higher Education Amendment (Fees)
Regulation 2009.

2      Commencement

This Regulation takes effect on 1 July 2009 and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.

Annual fee for approval of education institution under section 10 of the

Act:

(a) if number of courses covered by approval does not exceed 5 $1,040
(b) if number of courses covered by approval exceeds 5 $2,080
Assessment of application by education institution to vary or revoke $3,120
any condition of approval under section 11 of the Act
Assessment of application by education institution to vary its $1,040
particulars of approval to add, suspend or cancel a course of study
Assessment of application by education institution to vary its $3,120
particulars of approval to add new course delivery locations (per
location)
Application by education institution to vary its particulars of $520
registration other than to add, suspend or cancel a course of study or to
add new course delivery location
